Suitability, from domestic pools to larger leisure centres
Private Pools
Recotherm’s swimming pool ventilation units are ideally suited for the domestic pool. They offer a healthy environment that won’t cost you the earth to operate.
A private pool is only used for 1 may be 2 hours a day, conventional units with constant speed fans have to continue to run but the Recotherm unit will take into account the lower evaporation rates and adjust the speed of the fans to suit, this saves on the running cost of the fan motor’s.
Additional saving can be achieved if a pool cover is fitted as the unit has a built in pool cover set back temperature. This allows the temperature to drop to a predetermined level whilst still ensuring that there is no condensation. Choose from the following range of units:
Hotel Pools
Hotel pools range in size from 30 m2 to 200 m2. The use of the pool is greater than that of a domestic pool but not as high as a local authority pool. Hotel pools are usually attached to the health club, it is therefore imperative that the atmosphere inside the pool hall is healthy. This can only be achieved with a fresh air ventilation system.
Full fresh air would be extremely expensive to operate and would mean low humidity’s in the winter, which makes the occupants feel cold and causes high evaporation from the pool water surface. The only solution is therefore controlled fresh air ventilation.
Recotherm’s range of units are based on controlled fresh air ventilation with heat recovery from the exhaust air into the fresh air via an air-to-air plate heat exchanger.
Leisure Pools
Leisure pools have a high activity level and thus high evaporation rates. Air change rates should be increased to cope with this extra evaporation but it is important that the unit is capable of supplying a lower ventilation rate when the features are switch off.
Every Recotherm unit is fitted with frequency inverters to control the speed of the fans and thus provide what ever ventilation rate is required. Standard units are available up to 4 m3/s above this size we will design a unit to suit your particular application the largest unit we have constructed to date was designed to handle an air flow rate of 15 m3/s – but we can go higher if required.
School Pools
School pools range in size from 50 m2 to 300 m2. The pool may be purely for the use of the school or maybe available to the local community out of hours.
Either way it is important that the sufficient fresh air is introduced when the pool is occupied and that the unit has the capability to reduce the air volume during the unoccupied period. Recotherm’s range of unit are based on control fresh air ventilation with variable speed fans and heat recovery from the exhaust air into the fresh air via a air to air plate heat exchanger.
Spa & Hydrotherapy Pools
A spa or hydrotherapy pool will only have a surface area of 3 to 6 m2 but a temperature of 36 to 38 °C and excessive activity when operating. The actual evaporation rate could be equivalent to a pool 5 times the area of the spa, so ventilation is essential.
Recotherm have developed the Aeris 25 and the Aeris 25 + just for this application. It provides many of the features found on our more expensive units but the convenience of being small enough to mount on the wall if necessary.
