The UK Government has indicated an increase to the fresh air levels is required to help combat COVID-19. The good news for existing Recotherm customers is your Recotherm Air Handling Unit is already equipped with this capability. Some other manufacturers units can increase their fresh air but only to a much lower level. If the government increased their requirements to full fresh air, Recotherm Units would be capable of this.
If you’re not currently running a Recotherm unit, we have 2 solutions for you. Firstly, you could replace your unit, we offer many unit’s which can utilise your existing ductwork connections, and a flat pack option if access is an issue. You’ll notice an increase in air quality and also higher eco-friendly operational efficiency.
If, however, replacing your unit is out of your budget, Recotherm are proud to offer another solution!
If you’re current unit is unable to provide sufficient fresh air to your pool hall, you need to ensure the air you have is… clean air. This can be achieved by introducing a UVGI system to your *existing ductwork. What is UVGI? UVGI or Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation is ultraviolet light in the c-band range (225-302 nm). At this range the UV light is lethal to micro-organisms, UVGI works by cross-linking nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) to prevent replication and proliferations of micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria, spores, moulds, yeast and fungi.
Low intensity UV light isn’t new and has been used to sterilise for years. However, it requires a long exposure time, which isn’t possible for flowing air through duckwork. Recotherm can offer up to 99% microbial kill rates using high intensity UV-C light from right within your pool duckwork!
If you would like further information on how to configure your Recotherm unit for the new guidelines, or if you’re interested in replacing your unit for a Recotherm unit; or for our UVGI Air treatment please contact us at email@example.com or telephone on 01527 894533
*This can only be achieved dependent upon your existing ductwork installation.
