I first looked at the Recotherm VFEC100 unit when my pool equipment was being specified and I was trying to avoid the high start-up electricity drain involved when air conditioning compressors switch on. I became aware of the different, elegant and altogether superior concept of the, compressor-free, air exchange unit. It is delightfully simple mechanically (important from a reliability and maintenance perspective) and it is extraordinarily efficient and economical in terms of electricity consumption.
With a pool cover and good building insulation, it operates silently at its lowest power level almost all the time. It springs into life when needed (say 1 hour of pool use per day in the winter). Given normal domestic pool usage of this sort it is difficult to see how more complex devices can be justified.
The unit is controlled by sensors and a microprocessor the settings on which can be adjusted to suit the circumstances so that it performs at its optimum level at all times. An excellent concept that has exceeded all my expectations in its first full year of operation.
Thanks for all your help commissioning this VFEC50 of yours. It's worked smoothly and effectively since the day you commissioned it, and it does the job very well. For example, after a sub freezing night last night, and a long swim this morning, not a bead of condensation on the windows etc. So, a nice bit of kit.
